Florence
We have a hotel booked who tell me they have a pool and free breakfast. I will be traveling with my husband and 2 teenage boys (my son and his friend).
LisaAfter eating breakfast, use items from the breakfast buffet to make your lunches- peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, whole pieces of fruit, yogurt, muffin. Bring zip lock baggies to put sandwiches in. Take napkins, paper plates. Fill water bottles with juice/coffee.
Pack a portable cooler with a gallon sized bag of ice, store your lunch in there. Find a beautiful spot overlooking Niagara Falls for lunch! There’s a State Park.
Great hiking.
HarrietBe sure to drive over to the Canadian side. The view really is better and amazing!
LaurieAlways bring blanket, pillow, earplugs. eye mask, socks, refillable drinking bottle & snacks (not liquid gel or aerosol) in case stuck on tarmac for hours, cancellation, or missed connection. Once it’s happened to you, you’ll never go without these essentials again.
KirstenDon’t park right by the falls. It is 35$! There are cheaper places just a few blocks away.
LindaMaid of the Mist is a must. Lots of good restaurants but don’t know how frugal they are. I’m from Buffalo, NY so I know the area. If staying on the American side I recommend walking across the rainbow Bridge to Canada. Awesome views. Good museum on the Canadian side.
TinaCheck groupon for discounts I got maid of the mist on it. it’s a must it’s pricey it’s one in a lifetime. always by outside the area for food and have a picnic.
Niagara Falls aquarium is not for teenage boys.
JillHi! I live in Buffalo, NY! If you’re coming you definitely want to go to the Maid of the Mist and/or Cave of the winds. There is an easy gorge trail you can walk along the Niagara River up to Whirlpool State Park – or just go straight to that park for some river views.
There is a small aquarium, and while they are making improvements- teenagers may be bored with it.
I honestly haven’t been up that way to eat lately but grabbing a pizza or subs and bringing it to the above mentioned park for a picnic on a budget.
DebbieIf staying on the American side they used to have a combo package that you could purchase. It had the maid of the mister, the little train that drives you around and the cave of the winds. It was reasonable. Do not stay in a hotel downtown near the falls. It’s not the safest of areas.
