Are you an Ally customer wondering about the best ways to deposit cash into your checking or savings account? Share your experiences and tips! While Ally primarily operates online, making cash deposits might require some creative solutions. Have you explored options like depositing cash at partner ATMs or using third-party services like Green Dot?
Perhaps you’ve found alternative methods that work well for you.

VincentThis looks like a situation where having only one bank that operates exclusively online makes things complicated.
With Capital One 360 every CVS store is a cash deposit point. Maybe Ally will someday establish a feature like that.
CelitaLocal bank then transfer.
ChristopherLocal bank for transfers. Just get a no-cost no-minimum checking account and you’re good. Nothing else is lower effort.
AlliFollowing. I use Ally for my HYSA, and do bank transfers, because that’s the only way I know how to deposit money. I hate that it takes so long to be deposited though. I’d love to know a faster way.
AnnekaI always give my cash (which I rarely ever come across) to someone else that has a local bank they can deposit to and they will just Venmo or Zelle me for it.
RyanBank transfer. As a heads up though it takes way long for it to clear than if you were to just do a mobile check deposit. I just do deposits to our local bank and write a check to myself for a mobile deposit.
TracyI can’t speak directly to Ally but I use USAA which also has no brick and mortar buildings. There is a way to deposit cash INTO an ATM but you’ll have to call Ally to see if they participate in this.
LindaI also use Ally and this is the one drawback. If you find yourself needing to deposit cash often it may not be your best option. If its just occasionally I use a bank transfer.
RonI have Ally and a local bank’s checking account that doesn’t have an account minimum balance. I deposit cash in the local bank, then transfer to Ally.
StaceyI use the Ally app and transfer from my bank. It does take a few days. I only have a savings with Ally.
KennyI know Ally lets you use ATMs hooked up to their network to withdraw cash. There may be some that allow cash deposits? I haven’t looked because I’ve got a local credit union for situations like this.
