Am I the only one stocking up on frozen turkeys? I have 6 in the freezer currently. The local grocery store has them for $.29. Thankfully my family likes turkey!
I recently came across a deal where frozen turkeys are being sold at an unbelievably low price of $0.29 per pound.
I couldn’t resist grabbing a few, thinking about all the future meals and savings! It got me wondering—do others jump on such deals too, or is this more of a niche habit?
Whether you’re stocking up for holiday feasts, meal prepping, or simply taking advantage of the price, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Do you also buy in bulk when you see deals like this? Or do you prefer fresh or other alternatives?
Let’s share tips and opinions!”
CindyDon’t forget to save the bones for making broth.
JenniWe have 7 so far. We cook meals to feed families inneed and homeless. This will go a long way.
CynthiaIf you cook then slightly freeze the breast, you can slice them with a meat slicer for sandwiches.
AshleyI always buy like 3 or 4 but for 29 cents a pound I would definitely be getting more!!
KimWe have already cooked 3 turkeys in the last few weeks, have 6 in the freezer now and plan on buying 4-6 more before they go off sale at Meijer
SarahI break em down, season them and bag up and refreeze. The breast I will debone then roast it and have hot turkey sandwiches for days!
NeshaThey are never that cheap here! I’ll probably pick up another turkey breast just to have during the winter.
ValerieI have 2 in my freezer and want to get another one and cook them next week.
If I had a deep freezer I would have even more.
DeniseI am getting a free turkey from one of my supermarkets and will give it to my sister in law to cook up for the homeless.
RuthI would but I don’t have a freezer my store has them for 27 cents a pound
MugsyWe’re at 49 cents a pound but that’s with a limit of one. Over one are 99 cents a pound. Last year they were 69 cents a pound but there wasn’t a limit.
MaryI have never seen a turkey .29 cents per pound even after thanksgiving. Pittsburgh, PA area.
KathyWe have a small freezer so we bought 8 deboned and ground the meat to store in zip lock bags. Roasted a couple and sliced to freeze.
