any current or former day traders here would be interested in connecting with high schoolers to share your experiences and insights on the world of day trading?

i’m a high school teacher, and two of my students chose day trading as their passion project and they have been watching Youtube videos on strategies, learning about the basis etc.

but i personally have zero experience or knowledge on day trading, and i think it’d be such an invaluable opportunity if they could connect and learn from people who are knowledgeable on this field.

or if you have any resources that i can refer them too, it’d also be very helpful!

      Thank you!!

The OP is simply asking for someone who can knowledgeably speak about this industry and profession. There are various ways of being a day trader – You can do it with an investing house or you can do it at home.

You can do it with a self-funded account or with house money. It takes a certain inner constitution to stick with this and succeed.

There’s a long learning curve of trial and error to uncover what works for you and what doesn’t, and even if you’re cut out for it. You have to be willing to lose.

You have to learn what time charts and trading products suit your style – futures, options, foreign currency, etc.

The OP isn’t asking anyone to teach the students. Rather just to give them insight on what this kind of career demands and how to get started on different paths.

I’m sorry to hear this. Day trading, in my opinion, is extremely risky almost to the point of gambling and it’s extremely easy to just lose funds.

I would try to encourage them to learn about investing including volatility, modern portfolio theory, efficient frontier, and benefits of choosing less correlated assets if they really want to dig into some topics.

People pay big bucks to learn day trading. No one does it for free
