I’ve searched and seen some cell phone discussion on this site, and admittedly, not read every single comment, but in the ones I read, I didn’t see anyone mention Mint Mobile. My husband and I have had Mint for 3 years and we love it!

Each of us pays $250/YEAR for our service. We get unlimited calls and texts and 15gb of data/month that we never use all of.

You have to buy/bring your own phone, but Amazon has good deals on unlocked phones.

We just bought new phones this year for $86 and they function like iPhones.

My fiance and I have Mint and it’s great when we’re close to a major town, but we live in/around farmland and have major problems with connectivity. Just a couple weeks ago, we somehow had zero service in and around our home for 3 full days- we couldn’t call, text, or use data at all. It was horrific, since he’s gone 12-ish hours per day for work and I’m more or less stranded at home (we live full-time in an RV).

Usually, we have a few spots that we can consistently get some amount of service, which is reason enough that they’re not for us, but that’s sealed the deal for us. We’re looking at other service providers, too.

Appropriate: What cell phone plan are you all using? Are you happy with the service?

Mint is good if you are always in town. Otherwise, it gets really spotty service. Certainly, worth a try though.

We tried Mint but even though we are in a large city we didn’t have great service and when we tried to switch it was a major hassle. I could never recommend them again solely because of their customer service. It wasn’t that they weren’t nice, but it’s an overseas call center so there were language barriers and it took literal months and us finally cancelling the payment card associated to get the charges to stop even though we were told every time it had been handled.

We currently use Visible and are very happy with it!

I have Mint now but am switching to Visible for unlimited data and hotspot at the same price of 5GB of data on Mint.

Anyone use Visible? How is it?

Mint Mobile was recently purchased by T-Mobile FYI, though I understand, I have not made any changes to plans as of yet. If they’re smart, they won’t.

NOPE! My husband had it for two years. His phone was essentially a paper weight. It was absolutely useless 70% of the time. Trying to reach customer service was even more of a joke.

I’m in Montana and mint service is terrible here. I barely ever had service in my own home in the middle of town. If I went out of town I had nothing at all. It really depends on your area.

Just over $20 a month is a good price if the signal is strong enough in one’s area.

We have Mint and it’s working for us. We are saving so much! Service isn’t quite as good as what we had but the price difference is huge so, I think it’s worth it.

I have Mint as well. One phone. I pay 15.00 per month for unlimited everything. I pay once a year 180.00 with no phone bill the other 11 months.

We switched to Mint about 6mo ago. I LOVE them!! Super awesome deal if you’re a newcomer especially if you go ahead and purchase a full year.

Then after the intro offer it is still super economical in comparison to our options.

Mint is good but there are plenty of unlimited talk & text plans for <20 dollars a month. That’s why people don’t see Mint as that big of a deal.

I have liked Mint! I’m switching to Tello because I use less data these days and if you renew a day early every month, all your data and minutes rollover so you can renew at a lesser plan and keep the data and minutes from previous months. I’ll save money but it’s not for everyone!

US Mobile has affordable plans too and they have both T mobile and (prioritized) Verizon (you can’t be on both at once but they do let you switch pretty easily).

We have Mint for our personal phones and the service is great around any metro area. I will say out in the country the service gets questionable and I’m usually glad to have my AT&T work phone as well.

For the same price you can get spectrum and their service was a lot more reliable for us.

I’ve had mint for over a year and love it. I did have problems a couple of times not being able to send messages and restarted my phone and it went back to normal.

I’m sure that could happen no matter who your carrier is and that was two days out of 500 days.

                                    Love mint.

I had straight talk and always had trouble reloading the phone, my friend switched to mint but they never activated her number, though they had no trouble taking her money anyway.

I use US Cellular prepaid, $30 month for unlimited talk, text and 5g data.

                                      I pay 6 months at a time.
