Any fridge water filter hacks? Never had a fancy fridge before and can’t believe the water filter is 50 bucks a pop!

Do you have any budget-friendly tips

I’m looking for cost-effective alternatives or creative solutions to avoid spending so much every time it needs replacing.

Whether it’s DIY methods, off-brand filters, or clever maintenance tricks, I’d love to hear your suggestions!

Ours only needs changing twice a year. We got our fridge from Lowes. They have a program where we get $ back because we bought the extended warranty.

It’s worth it to have water with less contaminants in it.

They should last at least a year. Don’t replace every 6 mos.

I buy from Purerdrop. I’ve bought twice, had great customer service. I’d ordered whet the manual said to order and it was the wrong one!

I emailed them with some details, they figured out which of their models actually fit, AND sent them to me free, saying it would cost more to return them than they were worth.

I was ordering mine from Amazon in packs of three. I regularly found one out of the three would be defective. Which speaks to poor quality.

And I realize the products were usually from China.

And since we are having so many toxic products being imported recently, I’ve decided to be safer and just get it from Lowes.

I would love a better option also.

Depending on your source of water, it may not be necessary.
I have amazing well water in my area and I simply don’t use them.

Shop Amazon. You can get a multipack for less than half of you pay at any given store.

Do not let them get too far past or the water will get a weird film on it and it stays even after you change filters

Yes! Try Amazon. I got three pack for cheaper than than one they recommended. Have a young friend or family member help you!

Thats what I did. And I’ve had no problem with these filters. Work great!

Look for generic versions on Amazon. Mine are only $15 each that way, just make sure you read the reviews.
