Help! Does anyone have any inexpensive way to clean baking pans that get brown burnt food on them off?
I’ve recently had some cooking mishaps, and now I’m dealing with burnt food stuck to my baking pans. I’ve tried scrubbing with soap and water, but it’s not really doing the trick.
I’m looking for cost-effective methods that can help me get the pans back to looking like new again without using expensive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
Has anyone had success with simple, budget-friendly solutions for cleaning burnt food off their pans?
I’ve heard about using baking soda, vinegar, or even salt, but I’m not sure what works best.
Any tips or step-by-step suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Also, how long do these methods typically take, and are they safe for all types of baking pans?
Thank you in advance for your advice!
CaroleWhat is it with those flat baking pans? I call them cookie sheets or sheet pans. Why do they get like that?
BrendaBake a favorite recipe….take it to a neighbor in the burnt pan. It usually is returned cleaner than how you sent it!
KarenI have cleaned oven racks, grills, baking sheets, glass bakeware and drip pans by pouring ammonia into a heavy duty contractor bag, tie it closed (and place outside) and leave it overnight.
It didn’t smell great but it worked really well and they practically rinsed clean.
I had bought some really dirty professional bakeware for a few dollars and did this and although they weren’t exactly “like new”, they did come clean.
GwenI just wash my baking pans by hand or in the dishwasher. I don’t worry too much about the “seasoning” that gets left behind.
Shiny cookie sheets aren’t high on my list of priorities.
ReginaI set the oven on self cleaning and out the baking dish in there
Cleans bothLoisPut in a layer of baking soda and add a bit of hot water. Let sit. I bought a 25 pound sodium bicarbonate from a pool store.
Much cheaper than bags from the store
NanMy (former) husband used to take his drill and used some sort of a wire thingy…sorry not great at correct names of tools LOL….but sand paper would do the same thing I would suppose…
