My husband and I co-own a car and pay a hefty $ in car insurance to State Farm. He has not yet added me to it, once he does it’s going to bump up the $ even more. Any tips or suggestions on bringing the insurance price down?
BrianGeico has gotten my wife and I from $210 to $159 in the last couple years.
I have 3 vehicles and we’re 25 years old.
ColleenYou’re not yet added to the car insurance? When I priced out our car insurance recently, they mentioned adding a spouse would bring down the price. Shop around. It’s annoying but I’ve had to do it a lot within the last 2 years and I’ve saved a lot of money.
FabioHave you already quoted what it would cost to add you? Often, adding a spouse and listing them correctly as “married” will lower the overall premium. Aside from that, you can shop your premium with different companies, but know that insurance rates have increased dramatically over the past year.
GregI own an independent insurance brokerage. Best thing to do is just contact an independent agent in your area and ask them to shop it. You also need to get added asap if you own the car and aren’t listed on the insurance.
