Hi! Looking for good health insurance options. I’m a therapist in private practice, age 51 & dh is in data com, age 52. We depend on his job mostly for insurance.
He’s burned out & ready to retire, no interest in switching fields.
We’re in a position we can draw the equivalent of his monthly salary, but the out of pocket for health insurance will hurt.
I have some additional income from the therapists that work for me, but hate to use so much for insurance. I have multiple autoimmune diseases so worried if I’ll have trouble getting insured if not through an employer.
Any words of wisdom or good places to look for good, yet reasonable insurance?
TIA!
SeanHave you looked at the ACA plans? This is Florida but for a 50 year old a gold plan starts around 500 per person, a month. That’s really not that bad, in my opinion.
ChrissyDepending on your state, try checking Kaiser Permanente. Last I checked, it was $1400 for a couple per month, but that’s just for Colorado and we have several facilities here that are good and in-network.
Good luck!
