My internet bill has increased by $25 in the past three years, and I’m starting to feel the pinch. I’m looking for a new internet provider that offers affordable rates without sacrificing quality. Any recommendations?
HeatherWhen my bill goes up (and you may have already tried this), I call my current provider and ask if they have any special rates. If not, I actually call back in a few days to speak with someone else.
I’ve been lucky enough that the second person suddenly “found” a discount.
I also mention that I am pricing other providers, and they can offer me a better deal (whether or not this is true).
SallyWe have AT&T and it hasn’t budged since we got it. Much cheaper than Xfinity too.
Lynne25 bucks in 3 years is great! Mine went up every year in 3 years.
LeslieI called my provider in AZ and told them I’m a senior they lowered mine it’s now $52/month.
PritiIf you have a spouse or kids, you can cancel and then open new account in name of them like as if they’re moving in to the house and get new customer plan like 1 tenth price and repeat after some time in your name.
KimSomething I’ve been doing is call the provider every 6 months and say you would like to continue as a customer but need a lower bill Most times they will work with you to keep you and find ways to give a discount (loyalty etc).
RitaSo much depends on where you live. You can check to see if you are in an area that now has coverage through T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, etc for home internet.
We have great service through BluePeak but they are more Midwest based I believe.
CheyennePay for what works tbh my dad switched to some bootleg phone plan and I can never get ahold of him. My only way to call him is when he’s using wifi on Facebook IM
LemongelloWe flip back and forth between spectrum and att every 2-3 yrs depending on who has the best offer. Tried T-Mobile, but it didn’t work well for us. No customer loyalty=no brand loyalty.
KellySpectrum cut my bill in half when I called them to cancel because I was switching to another provider.
ElaineI use T-Mobile internet. Saved me 50%. The only other choice here was Xfinity and T-Mobile was only recently an option. I ran, didn’t walk away from Xfinity,
AmyIf you have a child that qualifies for free or reduced price lunch you can get it for $9.95 with AT&T or Comcast. The speed is great too.
