Not really FIRE related but financial related.
With respect to this TD bank money laundering and compliance crimes going on.I have my mortgage & HELOC with them. (Total owed only a bit over 200k). I am not able to pay off now.
And mortgage rate is at 2.75% so refi is not a good move financially.
Any other options for us to move the mortgage and not get slammed with interest doing a refi?
MelIs TD money laundering or did they buy a US bank that was money laundering?
I haven’t been following but noticed my TD stocks slammed down
IanThe real question is… where would you move your debt/money to?
Most of my career was tangencial to finance as a software developer in financial services.I’ve worked with all the major banks.
The lifestyle seen in The Wolf of Wall Street is normalized in finance.
There’s nowhere you can go to get away from that stuff.
AmyWhat has this to do with the money laundering issue at td? Td is still a great bank, no need to move.
It was 5 employees in the states out of slightly less than 100,000 worldwide employees.
Shit happens, they are dealing with it and have been spanked hard.
If you need to refi because you can’t pay your mortgage that is on you.
CoreyI’m not sure I understand why you feel like you need to move the mortgage. At worst, I would think they would have to sell your dead off to another holder.
You’re not on the hook for any of the misgivings of the current company.
