Looking at my finances and hoping to fire before I’m old
Are there any good lists of expenses to consider?I am making a list of what I have now and what I think will be (considering inflation), but hoping to not miss things.
Anyone have a good resource list? Like a business plan, but for home?
Considering the house will be paid off, done paying for kids college, thinking 10 years before Medicare kicks in, health care costs, taxes, and vacations (and food!) would likely be the biggest expenses.
Idk how people do it on $40k (maybe not go on vacation?)
DaviddHealth care will be a big expense as you age.
Also iver the years you’ll need to replace a car, furnace, roof, appliances…StaceyTaxes shouldn’t be very high in early retirement, unless you are expecting expenses over $100k per year.
Health insurance via the ACA should be low as well if you can keep expenses under $100k per year (the lower the better).
Property taxes could be high I guess.
You should plan to spend 1%-2% of the value of your home on maintenance and repairs.
You can fund a lot of vacations via credit card points, but they can still be a big expenses.
RyanMy wife and I actually help families form a plan just like you’re thinking about.
Pm me if you would like more information and we can talk about your goals.
