BrookeGet it appraised and then try to sell it on Facebook Marketplace or something similar. You’re going to make more money that way because you can sell it close to retail. If you sell it to a jewel store, they’re going to offer you less so they can make a profit.
Another option is to have the stones and gold turned into something else that you can still wear.
IrishI took the diamonds out of my mothers engagement ring, and put them in my Claddagh ring, and the rest of the gold was made into a gold heart… really nice.
And I wear my dad‘s wedding band he gave me before he passed away.
SuzanneMarried to a jeweler years ago…. you will never get out of it what you paid for it. It will sell for what the market bears at the time.
PatriciaI looked into selling my Diamond ring pretty extensively after my divorce and nothing came anywhere close to being an acceptable offer.
I have a really high-end ring – appraised at $30,000 and the most I was able to find was a $1500 offer. I still have the ring. Figured I’d just save it for one of the kids rather than sell for such a low number.
