Can I consolidate my old Roth 401k and 403b into my Roth IRA without tax penalties?

I am 34 and currently have about 115k in retirement. I have about 33k in Roth IRA, 34k in Roth 401k, 8k in an individual brokerage account, and 39k in a 403b.

The 34k in Roth 401k and 39k in 403b was from two separate previous jobs.

Is there a way to take out the money out from the retirement accounts from the previous jobs and combine them into my own Roth IRA without getting the tax penalty?

I feel like the money is spread out in too many places and I want to consolidate them together into less accounts.

Also, I think there maybe fees associated with the retirement accounts from my previous jobs since I am no longer contributing so I don’t really want the fees to eat up the funds.

One of the accounts is 50% target date fund which I beleive do have fees associated with them. Just wanted to see what everyone thinks.

      Thanks in advance!

You should be able to roll the 403b into a traditional IRA. Any traditional 401k money you get in the future could go there too.

Rolling the Roth 401k over into the Roth IRA should be possible too. Someone correct me if I’m wrong – I’ve never had a 403b type of job.

I’d recommend Vanguard or Fidelity for the custodian for any IRA (Roth or Traditional) you need to create.

I don’t have any experience with Schwab or any of the others.

Transfer everything in kind. Fairly simple process

Agree simplifying your accounts will better help track your growth and decrease fees.
