I was receiving unemployment for 4 months. I finally got into an industry 30 days ago and today I was fired. They said it was because I didn’t show interest in the training.

I believe it was a problem with the budget. I was floored and upset but remained professional.

I do believe I can receive unemployment again. I’m just not sure how long and if they will use my new hourly rate.

For now I need all the frugal tips you can provide me with.

Bc I’m not sure if I will receive unemployment again. Thank you

It’s worth applying. Every state is different

Apply, go thru budget w/ fine toothed comb eliminate everything that is not an absolute need. Food banks, turn up the thermostat in summer.

Down in winter & wear a sweater. Rice & beans, soups are great budget stretchers. Eliminate any TV services.

Call other providers & ask for a rate reduction. Walk if able for errands, otherwise group them all.

Walk dogs, house sit, babysit to earn extra $.

Think of every expense as want vs need. Live out of the cupboards. Sell unneeded or unused items to bring in $.

Are thete any paid research projects you can participate in??? Best of luck

Oh that sounds shady as hell were you written up for this? Were you counciled on this issue? If not include this data when you reapply for benefits

I think an unemployment case stays open for a year

In FL I think you can reapply and they collect it from the old job. I let someone go within 90 days.

She applied for unemployment but got approved from her old job.

You will. They go by your highest quarter earnings out of the last five quarters

I’d apply. It might go back on the claim you had previously.

It depends on the state you reside in. In SC you have to have made $2000.00 or more in a month.

Indiana is a fire or higher at well state. That means I don’t really have to have a reason to let someone go, but if they don’t have a reason, then you automatically qualify for unemployment.

I’m not sure what happens if that company would say they did have a reason I can’t imagine that company was even paying unemployment for you at this time.

But I’m not sure we have these you need to call someone at that or just violent and see what happens.

Unemployment is based off 6 months employment, it is based on 6 months earnings

Go ahead and apply. You should be approved. If employer asks for a hearing, show up. Call their bluff.

                            You will collect.

30 days might not be enough earnings for a new claim. You might have to reopen the old one if you have money left. In my state, the claim stays open for a year or the benefits are gone.

The other issue is if they decide to fight it by saying you were fired for “cause”.

Look up on their site why you might be ineligible. You should find your answer

Get what food you can from the food bank, prepare some meals to freeze. Will unemployment penalize you, if you get some gigs from Craigslist?
