This morning, my fears came true finally! With the PUC in California approving the fixed rate for electricity usage while using lower rates for usage as a decoy, what are your thoughts if you’re a solar homeowner in California? Anyone thinking of going truly off grid?
RomanI’m on NorCal and bill has fixed infrastructure charge of ~$25 every month. I recently move to another house in the same city and now my water bill also has a fixed ~$90 infrastructure charge and my actual water usage charge is between $10-20. WdF…
KristenI’m in the dark here (pun intended) can anyone explain what is going on please? I’m in CA
RomanA $24.15 a month charge ranks as a “fear” in your world?
Man I wish my life was that boring…BrandyIn AZ, if you are within a certain distance, you HAVE to hook up to the system, which is total BS!
ScottThe trouble with most urban areas is the city/town/village won’t let you completely disconnect from most major utilities. I bet you could disconnect natural gas, if you have it, but not from the electric utility. So, you’ll always have the service fees included every month even if you offset your KWH usage with solar.
Kind of a scam but I see both sides of the stories arguments.
They will tag your house uninhabitable and never let it happen.
