grocery shopping for me includes multiple online orders with comparison shopping for the best price. How about you?
Do you often compare prices across different online grocery stores before making a purchase?
If so, do you place multiple orders from various platforms to get the best deals?
How do you manage delivery fees or minimum purchase requirements when splitting your orders?
Would love to hear your strategies for saving money when shopping for groceries online!
MarjorieCostco 1x per month th and local Kroger for deals and fuel points
RobinI also like to compare nutrition labels online, since I am on dialysis and must limit sodium, potassium and phosphorus.
DeborahI don’t do pickup. I like to pick my own produce and I buy a lot of marked down fruits, veggies, and meat.
I check the ads to see what is on sale.
I rarely pay full price for anything.
HeatherI used to do this, but 95% of the time, Walmart pickup was the cheapest.
So, I’ve simplified to Walmart pickup, and reviewing Costco and Amazon Subscribe and Save once a month for non-regular items to see if they’re cheaper to buy in bulk.
NolaAldi and Wegmans are on the same street. I go to wegs for some stuff I can’t get at aldi (or that I know are better, or slightly cheaper) like some of the special gluten free stuff my household needs.
then I go to Aldi where the selection is limited but the prices are better on most things.
if I’m short on time or energy I just pick one. that basic strategy is how most groceries end up in my house.
soon as I moved to the neighborhood i made a spreadsheet and did price research
PamI try to buy the majority of what I need on senior day (10% off) I have clip digital coupons, paper coupons that come in the mail from the store, and shop between Fry’s and Safeway.
Oh, and I usually have a coupon that will let me take off an additional $7/8 if I spend $70.
It all adds up. Then I use the points for gas.
HollyI do the same. Sometimes I compare Target and Walmart on their apps and then while I can still edit I shop in person at Aldi and cancel in the apps what’s cheaper at Aldi.
Brianusually 1) Aldi for everything I can possibly get there first. 2) walmart for everything I still need that I couldn’t get at Aldi. 3) amazon for things that are cheaper than walmart (which admittedly isn’t much, but some things are).
our local grocery store, Cub Foods, also carries some very niche products that I will sometimes to get.
But the rest of their selection can be on the expensive side so I rarely make my full trip there
