Renting a car through Costco Travel and using my Costco credit card. Any experience with their rental service? Do I require supplemental insurance or is it included with the credit card?
I’m planning to rent a car through Costco Travel and will use my Costco credit card to pay for it. I’m curious if the rental cost includes any kind of insurance coverage or if I need to add extra insurance for peace of mind.
I’d love to hear from anyone with experience or knowledge about whether the Costco credit card provides additional coverage, or if Costco Travel’s rental service automatically includes any insurance options.
Any insights, advice, or tips are much appreciated!
LeoThe Costco credit card is secondary insurance on a rental.
GretchenGreat decision- they provide insurance and additional driver. Cancel without penalty anytime. Best rates and service you’ll find anywhere.
ChristinaCredit card insurance usually doesn’t include loss of use – days that the car is in the shop and cannot be rented. I’d ask your own insurance how it covers rental cars.
Costco has deals with the usual car rental companies.
Service is provided by the rental companies, not Costco.
BinhI always pay for insurance from the rental company. Costco insurance is secondary.
