Maximize Your Benefits!
Have you checked if your employer offers a health rewards program? My United healthcare plan does!Connected a step tracker got $25, completed a health survey got $15, went paperless got $2.50, told them I got a flu shot got $15.
And now the biometric screening can be done from home! I got a kit, had to pinch my finger and send them drops of my blood for $50
Now need to complete some sleep/ walk activities to get a max of $ 300 per adult per year!
Don’t overlook these opportunities! Many people shy away thinking it’s too tedious, but it’s worth asking about.
Get involved and start reaping the benefits!
DawnMany of those can and will also be used to increase premiums, deny eligibility, and refuse payment for services.
Tracker? I’m not sure there’s a price I’d accept to be tracked.
As I say, they aren’t doing those things out of the goodness of their hearts…be careful of ulterior motives.
LaurenI’m so split on these. Some of them are fine, but for some of them, I don’t *want* to give them access to my activity tracking for some untold period of time.
(Same as the car insurance discounts for allowing them to track the speed, braking, etc.
(and thus presumably location) with your phone.)
KerriYes! We get reduced premiums for not using tobacco products and completing a biometric screening.
SaraMy husband and I both have this. I max mine out, my husband doesn’t quite get there. I also have a $1300/year reimbursement for “well being for life”.
I’ve used it for fitness equipment and camping equipment.
We have all the camping equipment we need and nearly have our own gym, lol.
