Just a tip to check out what benefits your local library system offers or if a reciprocal library offers better perks.

I live in Washington state and have a library card for Snohomish County.

Snohomish is a reciprocal library to King County. King county libraries offer free museum passes and you can also check out a discovery pass for 14 days at a time. Most of our trails require a discovery pass to park in the parking lot.

Most libraries offer free printing too. In Snohomish I can print 70 pages of black and white a week. In king county it’s 10 per week.

My library has also has a library of things…power tools, electronics, yard games, board games, small kitchen appliances, etc. Great if you only need something for a short time.

In Snohomish County (South Everett for sure) we can also check out laptops and hotspots for a few weeks for free too!

always two time the library, if there’s a library system nearby or in a place you often go to, get a card there too. I have been known to pay a modest out of county fee to do that.

it pays for itself in just a visit or two

the benefits improve if you use the online offerings, and if the borrowing limits are generous
