Raising littles in the working stage of life is crazy. Many tasks repeatedly fall way-side to other priorities. In our case, home decor was seriously neglected & looking at it daily drove me nuts!

Photo frames were all collecting dust & at least 3years outdated.

For Mother’s Day my husband helped refresh & rehang every single one of them throughout our home.

This act of service cost nothing (but time) & brings me ongoing joy/gratitude! So in any case. Figure out YOUR person’s dreaded or abandoned task & just do it!

They’ll probably treasure your effort more than material alternatives.

Love this! I have a girlfriend that instead of doing a book club started a girl’s night where they take turns meeting at each other’s house and spend 3 hours working on a chore or household burden. She said it’s been amazing. I think they meet every two weeks on a week night. They’ve painted rooms, planted gardens, and dusted and cleaned.

So true. My husband so sweetly told me that I could choose whatever plants I would like on a trip to a garden Center for Mother’s Day, a trip he encouraged me to take with my mother in law and sister in law…so I bought some veggie plants…spent 2 hours last night planting them out.

Great advice! My husband offered to replant our window boxes with flowers, and I was so happy and appreciative to have him do it!

My son painted an accent wall I’ve wanted to do for 3 years. He also turned my mattress, something I cannot do. Help like that means so much!

Another gift idea, choose a holiday, Mother’s Day, Christmas, birthday, and give an updated family photo, then change it out for the recipient. My mom only asked for family portraits from us for Xmas. They don’t have to be professional, just take the time to get dresses up or doing your favorite family activity and have someone snap some shots. Print at Walmart, cvs or Walgreens. It’s simple yet wanted.

This is the kind of thing I ask for from my son’s for my birthday and Mother’s Day. Help moving heavy items or heavy duty yard work, etc. It doesn’t cost them money, just gas and time. I get stuff done that I can’t do alone, and get to have some time with them too.

My 11 yr old granddaughter dusted and wiped down my 4 kitchen and 10 dining room chairs. One of my dreaded spring cleaning chores. I am grateful.

Gifts of service are great for seniors, and can include tech tidy ups and minor house hold repairs ( draft stoppers for doors, ceiling fan cleaning etc).

Agree! My husband asked what I wanted and I said that I would love for my car to be cleaned and the new solar lights to be put outside. He did both.
