Has anyone tried getting groceries delivered from the Imperfect Foods app or store? I’m curious about how cost-effective it is. I really dislike going to the grocery store because I tend to overspend, so I’m looking for alternatives.

Can anyone share their experience with Imperfect Foods in terms of pricing, quality of products, and overall value?

I’d appreciate any insights or recommendations before I give it a try.

      Thanks!

I buy from Misfits market regularly. I try to eat the healthiest foods, so I buy organic. I find misfits fits the bill. I cannot find the array of organic foods locally without driving to several stores which is time consuming and costly. The plan I use offers free shipping on larger orders.

I sometimes order every other week to meet the dollar amount. Rarely does anything go to waste.

Only order items you plan to use.

        I highly recommend them.

When I had online grocery shopping and home delivery, I saved a BUNCH of money. No impulse shopping at all from a store (Meijer) that carried everything like Walmart.

Imperfect foods is great, you can pick and choose your price point (I always compare with local prices) and choose when it’s going to be delivered.

I would use it more if I was home, but having it delivered and sitting just didn’t make sense to me.

I would also only order foods/veggies/fruits that we planned for, because my problem is ordering things that look good, with no plan of using them in a meal.

Didn’t like imperfect foods at all. Half of it got tossed because it was unusable, and they make no adjustments for food allergies or sensitivities so i ended up with a couple things I couldn’t eat. Price point for me wasn’t any better or worse than grocery store or farmers market.

I tried a couple boxes and it just was not worth it.

I’ve used imperfect foods, but it wasn’t necessarily cheaper than other ways of getting food.

It was cheaper when I got a discount because I happened to be on snap at the time, but once I lost access to that discounts it was just cheaper for me to get food from Walmart or other places.

I use Walmart + for free delivery and no markups like Instacart. I can start my list any time and just add to it when I think of something.

Our grocery offers home delivery so have been opting to do that…prevents me from doing impulse buys …saves wear and tear on my vehicle…takes way less time.

My girlfriend just sent me a link and said she and her husband are doing this and having a wonderful experience with it!

I used it during the pandemic. It wasn’t great. I was ordering for one person and the boxes that I got were very strange even though you got to choose I mean, what can you do with one small beet.

I haven’t used it. A friend once told me she won’t use it because it’s taking food that would normally go to food banks. Not sure if that’s true, but it’s a perspective I hadn’t thought of.

I do a CSA and get great quality/variety for a good price. It’s just usually an upfront cost. Some farms will do monthly payments.

Tried it 2 times and most of it had to throw out! Wal-Mart and Aldi both have a app that you can order online. And then just do a pick up! Saves me from picking up stuff I don’t need!

Have you tried mobile ordering? Many stores offer free curbside pickup now so you preorder everything and they put it in your car without you getting out. It prevents over spending. Just be careful that some stores charge extra per item for this or a flat fee per order.

Stores like Target and Walmart do not though. Walmart does have a $35 minimum order but otherwise free.

Target doesn’t have a minimum order.

Bring cash when you shop. Make a list and prices. Calculate the total and bring that amount of cash with you.
