Has anyone had any issues buying glasses with progressive lenses online? It looks like I can get my new prescription online for half the price of buying them locally.

I have read things about the progressives not being located correctly.

When making a pair of progressive lenses you need a PD (pupillary distance) measurement and a seg height measurement.

The only way to get the seg height measurement is to put a pair of glasses on a patient’s face and to measure where their pupil is in that exact frame. From that measurement, we measure from the bottom of the frame to that center of the pupil.

Your seg height can be different in every pair of glasses that you try on. When you buy a pair of progressives online, they are essentially estimating where they think it will be.

While some people will have success, they may not know the difference of having a properly fitted pair of glasses.

If cost is a concern, many patients have success at Walmart or Costco/Sam’s club.

They typically have value packages to keep cost down. I hope this helps!

I use Zenni, they always get my progressive lenses right. You have to go step by step through their instructions the first time through.

I use Zenni as well. I’ve got progressive lenses and Rx sunglasses with progressive lenses, never had any problems.

Just ordered my 4th pair 2 days ago.

I have bought several pairs of progressives from Zenni over the years with zero problems. And for the money saved on a pair I can afford another pair.

I bought 2 pairs of progressives this year from zenni and it was still significantly less then what I could get 1 pair from eye glasses from brick and mortar store.

I bought my first pair of progressives online but found them not to be as good as quality as the ones I bought at Costco.

They fit better and the lens quality was much better.

I was able to get more for my dollar at Costco than I was online.

I have … I got mine from eye but direct. They are progressive and transition lenses. I paid around $100 for them.

I have been very happy with them.

Dont use Mukkal. Glasses were defective and can’t be used.
