My kids need all new clothes for fall\winter (they’ve outgrown everything) and I don’t want to have to watch the sales.
JennyChildren’s place often runs sales making them some of the cheapest, I have jeans and tshirts that are now being worn by the 4th child and still look good! I’ve found Amazon brand clothes to be inconsistently sized and no better (or worse) quality than anywhere else.
AllisonI never buy brand new clothes for my kids (or myself) unless it’s a special occasion (except for underwear, socks, and swimsuits).
Thrift stores, Facebook market place and eBay.
When my kids were younger I would look for lots in Facebook marketplace and EBay.
AshleyOurs has kid clothes all the time. Also, not sure how old your kids are but consignment sales should be happening soon if you have any good ones nearby.
Right now Target has I believe $10 off $40 so if you could do a shopping trip soon?
KatherynTarget and old navy have terrible quality fast fashion clothes and so do Amazon so I’d say they are all about the same.
I do get these for my kids (mostly gifted from my mother in law) because they use them for such a short period of time (toddler age) but when they are older and growing less quickly I’ll be focusing on higher quality brands
VeronicaTargets cat and jack brand is reasonable. They go on sale for 30% off all the time.
And, if you keep your receipts you can return them when they outgrow them.
I’m not sure exactly how it works because I’m grandma and not mom, but it seems like a great deal!
ShannonAmazon basic is good quality clothing. I think it’s sturdier than the Cat and Jack brand at Target, however I feel both brands are worth buying.
I say it seems sturdier because my daughter wore holes in nearly all her C&J leggings during last school year, while I didn’t run into that with the Amazon leggings we bought the year previous.
Target will refund customers for worn out C&J clothing within one year of purchase.
I have not utilized that service since the leggings lasted until early spring with frequent use.
MeganWe’ve purchased Amazon basics for my kids and we really like them.
They’ve lasted longer than our children’s place and old navy stuff
TwillaWe have a store here called Once Upon a Child. It’s a re-sale store, but they HEAVILY inspect any clothes that people want to sell to them and only buy super nice clothes to re-sell.
When my kids were younger, I shopped there all the time because they outgrow their clothes so fast.
SarahI usually have a lot of luck at TJ Maxx for name brand kids clothes on clearance
KatyaI got my kids their basic undies and I was really surprised how well made they are.
They are a good quality cotton and compare to Hanna Anderson European brand that’s 3x the cost.
EllenI absolutely love the Amazon brand, it’s affordable, has tons of options, has great sizes and holds up well.
JoniDon’t forget to check out thrift shops as well as ask your Buy Nothing Group if anyone is offloading their kids’ outgrown clothes!
RachaelI usually do Old Navy for my 2 kids. You just can’t beat the price.
I randomly picked up a few things at Penny’s this year that were on sale.
I can’t say how well they hold up yet, but the quality is like night and day.
They feel thicker, the stitches looks cleaner and tighter.
I did have to watch the sales, but the pricing was comparable.
AB DorseyAmazon essentials for t shirts. Comparable to Hanes. Try very hard to avoid China
LauraI am still a huge proponent of thift stores and older friends lol. Except for everyday shoes.
Those are worth buying new since you want them to conform to your child individual foot wear pattern.
JesusMake sure to check the size charts, some made in China are Asian sizes and run very small.
KristaAmazon brand is hit or miss depending on clothing type. For me, Target has had the kind to hold up the longest (most wear)
MaryI ordered dresses from amazon but now 3rd party..some returned most kept…..bought son’s shorts n shirts..
AmandaSome of my students wear Amazon brand and it’s really nice and has held up well.
I’m a preschool teacher and little kids are hard on clothes.
JessieWe have Amazon brand zippie sleepers that are on their second kid. They are definitely obviously used (faded, some stains, etc) but have held up pretty well for as much as my kids were/are in them.
ShannonCat and Jack, which is a Target brand has great clothes and usually awesome deals in about 2 weeks for back to school.
RobynAlso, if you can get to a Children’s Place outlet store, their back to school sale is insane.
My MIL lives near a Tangier and I got tops for $1, jeans for $3 and shorts (in next sizes up) for 50 cents.
CassandraI go to the thrift stores! I bought two jackets for my sons for 4.00. I always look at the shirts for no stains and no rips.
If you want brand new look for Carters outlet or Tanger city—I bought a whole school years worth on clearance and paid 132 for both kids
