What are you all doing with the rising premiums for umbrella insurance? My six month premium (for $1MM) went up from about $350 to $1150! I live in CA and have home, car and umbrella with Farmer’s insurance.

With the noticeable rise in lately, many individuals and families are feeling the financial strain. How are you managing these increasing costs?

Have you considered adjusting your coverage, shopping around for better rates, or finding alternative ways to safeguard your assets?

I’d love to hear your strategies, tips, or insights on navigating this challenge effectively.

Oh wow. That seems very high. Our last 6-month premium was less than $100.

Are you using a broker? Bundling with one company doesn’t always save you money.

I pay $2000/yr JUST for our $2 mil umbrella policy through State Farm in California.

It was already expensive at $1000, and then doubled when we added a teen driver this year.

I thought my annual premium going from $192 to $286 this year was bad. Safeco in Oregon. $1M umbrella.

It is what it is. Shop around. If you can find equivalent or better, get a new policy

Farmer’s claims department is horrible. I know from firsthand experience. I recommend shopping around.

I live in CA and that happened to me too! I’m also with Farmer’s. Definitely time to shop around

We’re in CA and saw a monstrous jump this year also. We even sold our home and a rental and dropped a 23 year old son!

They can’t explain why we saw such a jump with a dramatic drop in risk
