Hello school holidaye coming up. I get paid 550 on wed.. Next pay will be on 12 th feb..( 10 weeks): ((( how can i budget that??
how much do i get to spend per week??
Thankyou for your input;)
StaceyI’m in a similar spot. Do you work for a school district where you don’t get paid on break? Or are you not able to work cause children are off school?
Try to do things like pet sit for the holidays maybe to bring in extra money.
I presume all bills are paid and this is for food and fun?
More details would help. But my advice is to do as much “no spend” weeks as possible so you can spend more than 55 one week.
AnnieI’d parse it out $50 per week. Gives you a little wiggle room in case you go over a dollar or two.
MelindaMost school employees work on their days off to supplement their income
Lots of holiday jobs availableMichelleAre you able to donate plasma?
I donate plasma to get extra money for my bills (or extra spending). I used to donate whole blood every 8 weeks to help “mankind”.I then learned that I could donate plasma, to still help people in need, AND get paid for it. You donate twice a week (they need 2 collections to make a full dose of plasma).
I get $130 a week ($45 first, $85 second, they REALLY want you to make sure you do the 2nd donation so you get more the 2nd time).
($520 a month) Depending on how busy the center is, I spend 1 to 1-1/2 hrs there (most is waiting to be checked in and have a seat available, donation is 30-45 mins).
I watch videos/movies on my phone, play games, read a book, scroll through social media, etc. 2 hours of down time, get paid, help others, WIN WIN WIN.
RonaWe don’t know what you’re budgeting for? Items you need vs wants. Is this just spending money? As it’s not much for bills for 10 weeks.
As someone said that’s $55 a week but if you have expenses it could be much different.
Are you in another country? We need more detail.
KristenAny items you can sell? Be careful to not waste gas on driving to meet anyone to make sales. If you have things you meant to return to store, do that & recoup the $$.
Maybe you have gift cards that you can use, or points that you can redeem for gift cards.
Pick up a few days of babysitting (or for date nights), that may add $100 or so to your budget. Offer pet sitting over the holidays… make sure to charge enough to cover gas.
Offer to do yard work or run errands for locals. $55 is low for a weekly budget, but definitely can be done if need be.
How many people in your household that you need to buy groceries for?
Also, check for a local “Buy nothing/sell nothing” facebook group in your area to see if anyone is offering groceries or anything you can make use of
MelissaIf this is for groceries $110. For 2 weeks food. Budgetting for 2 weeks is easier to buy larger quantities at less expensive prices.
Like 10 pound bag of potatoes, 5 pound flour, large bags frozen veggies, 1 or 2 whole chickens, 18 eggs, 3 pound ground beef…
ValerieI never buy Christmas gifts for adults. I do make handmade gifts. This year I purchased small, sheer bags and a bag of lavender.
Sachets for all.
AmyI would look into a seasonal job. Target, Walmart, Costco, Sam’s, Kohl’s, etc. I could not live on $550 for 10 weeks unless I had a large bit of savings built up.
At the holidays retail places try to get people hired adaptor get the extra help.
They kind of “skip over” a lot of the red tape they usually have, especially if you’re hired as seasonal, because if you won’t work out long term they don’t have to worry about the red tape of firing people since your position will be gone in 2 months anyway.
SwantjeCheck out whether there is a local food pantry. Keep in mind they may also take a break over the holidays.
DiannaFood Bank?
You don’t have to be in a program to take advantage of the perishables (produce, bread, salad kits,…) in the “over-run” area up front.Just walk in and take as much as you’ll use; no questions asked…
