I had hand surgery a couple weeks ago and have been confined to my RV.

I am going stir crazy and I have been going for daily drives and I’m on short term disability so driving is not the best.

Are there any frugal ways to have fun while staying inside?

First if you’re on pain meds or can only use one hand you shouldn’t be driving.

Do you live in the rv all the time or just during your recovery.

        You can get outside.

Enjoy the time off, listen to music, go for a walk, read, watch movies.

Most of what you would usually do can be done with one hand.

I’ve had both shoulders a hip and ankle surgery.

I learned to do things with the opposite side quite well.

Didn’t drive for 6 to 8 weeks until off meds and could safely do what’s needed.

Sounds like a great time to maybe do walks listening to audiobooks or get caught up with reading.

Library is free and my library has free audiobooks (Libby, hoopla).

If you live ve near a college or university, sometimes you can audit classes if they aren’t full.

Our university lets seniors take classes (called golden age pass) and you can use their library.

Go down a rabbit hole on a topic. Watch three YouTube videos about climbing mt Everest, or something that you don’t know anything about.

              (I’m assuming you aren’t a mountain climber)

You can do online surveys that pay you for doing them. Be sure to find out what the limit is so you would not have your disability money taken from you.

I walk around the mall go window shopping. I love going to the library.

Tons of great things to do there and get the Libby app so you can read any publication basically in the world free on your phone or laptop.

You can check out movies from there or stream from the Libby app.

Visit an animal shelter and take a dog for a walk away from the shelter for a treat.

I don’t know where you’re located but a great county, state, or national park and go walking.

I just adore watching the wildlife.
Catch a matinee at the movies.

See if there are any farmer’s markets or festivals like free concerts going on in the area.

It’s still summer so lots of free things going on.

                    Clean, organize
When you’re better, you will start with a clean slate

Try learning another language, like Spanish. The library usually has language learning books and cds…

read that book you have always been too busy to read…

deep clean something…wander around a mall or Walmart.

Don’t buy anything unless you seriously want or need it, sticking to your budget.

Join a church and make some new friends!

Read, paint, declutter, watch a show, listen to a podcast, nap, bake, take walks, go take pics on your phone of something pretty, make a bucket list.

                        Crossword puzzles

Depending on which hand you injured: Painting, crossword puzzles, crocheting, movies, shows, video or computer games, if you’re into makeup that can be fun to experiment with, audiobooks, coloring, documentaries, even going down Wikipedia rabbit holes online can be fun!

A good book? A good movie to watch? Invite a friend over for a board game?

                            Take up Wordle or solitaire?

A walk outside if your legs work ok?

A phone call to a friend or relative you’d like to catch up with?

Search online for recipes and copy and put in a notebook for later?

Buy cheap birthday cards for the year and write them out and address (if your hand that you write with is ok)?

                            Puzzles?

Being in small quarters you’ll need something that isn’t space hogging huh?

What about starting a succulent collection?

Or a herb garden for windows?

Or get a roll of chicken wore and try making yard sculptures?

Catch up in your sleep, read all the books you didn’t have time for. Call people you have been thinking about, but haven’t called lately.

Binge watch some series on Netflix or Ruku (free channel).
