Help: I need frugal ideas of how to get the fitted sheet and mattress protector to stay on the mattress! I buy deep pocket sheets, I don’t turn a lot in my sleep, and I put both of them under the mattress when I make the bed, yet the fitted sheet and mattress protector keep riding up.
I looked up how to keep them on; the suspender clip things aren’t going to work since I’m disabled and only have use of one arm.
The internet article also suggested binder clips or safety pins. Has anyone used either of those options with any success?
How did you use them?
SusanNot too be rude but she stated that she is disabled, only has one arm so she is unable to put on the sheet clips.
I have used upholstery screw buttons and they can be attached at bottom outside edges of mattress. Can be installed with one hand and removed for washing.
They are most commonly used for keeping arm cushion fabric on arm chairs but work perfectly in the application as well.
It’s an aggravating thing to fight with sheets… hope you find a solution that works for you.
DanielleSheet clips!! They are like five bucks at Wal Mart.
CharlotteTry putting a slip resistant mat like you can get for cabinets and rugs .use a big spatula to push it between sheet and corner of mattress.
PatriciaI think those suspender type clips might work. You can clip them on before you put the sheet on.
AmyI use the suspender clips. It takes a little trial and error to figure out where to put them but I attach them before putting on the fitted sheet and they solved the problem for me.
ShirleyLook up clips top hold on fitted sheets. They are super cheap at walmart.
PamelaI buy king size sheets for my queen size bed. I just tuck the extra fitted sheet under the mattress.
Now I have a big sheet and pillow cases.
AngelaI bought sheets with elastic straps on the corners. They don’t come off or ride up at all. You could also sew straps on the sheets you already have.
RachelI use safety pins because that’s th way my mom taught me but sometimes they get tangled up.
I’d like to try the clips but I’ve been told they sent work as well as using pins.
SharonThere are things about 6 inches long with clips on them that look similar to clips on suspenders.
They are not expensive and they work well.
BethAw. I buy my sheets from Macys. That has never happened. Damask.
LucindaWe have an air bed mattress (sleep number), and the _only_ fitted sheets that stayed on for us were the Jersey knit sheets from The Company Store.
Unfortunately they can be pricey, so I buy one when I find a coupon and keep it in reserve for when our current one becomes unusable.
I would think a generic knit sheet would work just as well for a regular mattress.
SarahMy mom sews her own elastic straps on her sheets to hold em in place better
SharonMaybe duck tape lol. The mattresses are too slippery. Maybe you might not need the deep pockets, might be too big and can’t be tight enough.
GayleMaybe the mattress protector corners are not deep pocket and that slips off bringing the sheet with it.
