Not only am i working with 110 for 2 weeks for food and petrol but its also school holidays! Help.. Ideas please how to make it stretch?

“I’m facing a bit of a challenge and could really use some advice. I have $110 to cover food, petrol, and activities for the next two weeks, including school holidays.

I’m trying to stretch my budget as far as possible, but I’m unsure of the best ways to balance everything.

Does anyone have tips for affordable meals, managing petrol costs, and fun, low-cost activities for kids during the holidays?

Any advice on how to make this budget work would be really appreciated!”

Potatoes and beans are inexpensive and filling. You can add a small amount of protein. Beans and rice together make a complete protein

Utilize the food banks in your area and build your menus using what is provided much as possible.

Calculate how much fuel you need to buy for 2 weeks and subtract from your total now.

Then you know exactly what you have to spend on things like personal hygiene products. Etc.

Library usually has something going on that’s fun, let them pick a movie is also available.

Talk about nature made art, Go for a walk in a park and give them a bag to collect things like pebbles etc.

have them lay out their design on a piece of cardboard. Hot glue it for them at night. Let them add paint, beads etc…

Try to use what you have in stock on hand first. Maybe you can figure out soups etc to stretch. Do a little meat and a lot of other stuff in casseroles.

Always ever bread, rice, potatoes, beans, other things as fillers because meat is expensive.

Look at buy nothing groups in area too, food banks, church pantries for extra food.

Maybe a co worker would carpool?

Soups are filling and cheap and can feed a big family. Make chicken broth from chicken bones and skin.

Add leftover foods or bag of mixed veggies, chicken scraps. Just before serving add cooked noodles or rice.

Pancake dinners. Add a fried egg or scrambled for everyone.
Simple quiche, 5 eggs mixed with a 1/4 cup milk or water in a piecrust and sprinkle cheese on top.

If you have a 1/3 pound sausage or some bacon cook and add it.

Chopped spinach and onions, peppers, are all good to add. Sliced tomatoes or fruit as a side dish.

Grilled sandwiches. Pb&j, cheese, tuna salad
Potatoed are cheap and can be made a fozen different wsys.

Last week I made scalloped potatoes and sliced tomatoes as a side.

Who said they can’t be the main dish.

Truthfully I would look for a better paying job. Ever think about opening a home daycare center?
