Hello, Can I have suggestions on my song up my new budget please
We used to get paid twice a month now it’s once
$4231 monthly income
Bills: $774
Expenses $1145
Savings $231
Left over $2081I have a handful of bank accts set up to separate money
How should I go about paying myself throughout the month and keeping my budgetI’m a little nervous of this change getting paid once a month.
Any and all suggestions welcome thank you
MelissaYour budget needs to be more detailed. What are you paying yourself for? It should be a category. Examples= Entertainment, Mani/pedi, Hair, Investment…
When you break your expenses into more detail it is easy to see where you need to cut back or when a catagory seems to be more and more each month.
Perhaps you decide you don’t want 7 coffee shop coffees.
Where are you putting the money you saved.
CoraI’m paid monthly. Get paid in October, pay all bills on 11/1 for November. Once the money is gone it’s gone.
It took a few months to adjust, but now I prefer this one pay a month because it simplifies it for me.
KimberlyTry to get and stay at least one month ahead. When your check comes in, put half in savings. Then you can discipline yourself like you’re getting paid twice.
Make a spreadsheet with all your bills and their due dates.
ChristinaWasn’t an issue for me, to be honest. We lived exactly the same way. I don’t mean to be dismissive, but it sounds like what you’re doing already is working.
AnnetteI am self employed and have variable income from month to month. I stay a full 30 days ahead of bills.
I don’t pay them until they are due because my savings accounts are making me money.
