Looking to make more homemade snacks for my kids to bring to school.
They love muffins, but how can I pack them so they dont arrive smashed?
Is there a good reusable storage container out there that will hold a standard size muffin?
They are great eaters so they dont usually have room left in their lunchboxes to fit a muffin for snack in also.
SusanThere are plastic storage things for storing onions or tomatoes in the fridge, one of those would be good for a muffin
NancyI believe dollar tree has cupcake containers that would work for a single muffin. However, they are plastic.
CharlotteI used to pack soft foods in tins. Also, I made muffins often. I used the small muffin cup pan and not the big (normal) size pans.
I would pack 4 muffins.
It was much easier to handle, didn’t create a lot of crumbs.
Often my kids would save a muffin to eat on the way home from school and they sometimes would share with friends.
DonnaMake mini muffins. They stay intact, are easily packed and everyone loves them, especially kids.
MeganMake mini muffins and pop them in a bento box. Kids love the little compartments and you can let them choose a muffin flavor that you make!
I use produce that is still good but past ripe such as bananas, apples, carrots, etc., to make muffins.
DiannaJust me, but I’d probably save something like a muffin to eat at home; too fragile (and crumbly) to carry along
MargieYou can buy little snap and seal boxes that would be just the right size.
Pack them at the bottom of the bag, so they dont get tipped and jostled.
RobinYou could also make no bake oatmeal bars. They travel well:
Ingredients1 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup honey
3 cups rolled oats
KellyCheck out the company Cupacake. I have one of their containers
KathrineI would cut a strip of cardboard the height and circumference of the muffin.
I would wrap it around the muffin and put in a ziplock bag.
ConnieI have small Rubbermaid containers that I put 1 muffin in and freeze. They seal well.
Perfect size.
