I’m sure this issue has been covered, but not sure how to access it.
I have never had trouble getting blood stains out of clothing, but now I am!
White summer pants, twill-type material.
I have used Dawn power spray, which did nothing.
I then made a paste of powder red Oxyclean and hydrogen peroxide and let that sit a while, which helped only slightly.
I had a small nick on my finger which I didn’t realize left small spots.
I didn’t notice this until I was going to wash them several days later, so it was very dry by then.
I did not put them in the dryer either time.
I would appreciate suggestions!
I already have bleach and Borax, if those can be helpful.
Thank you!
TesseHydrogen peroxide gets blood out. Cold water wash
KarenBleach doesn’t work , hydrogen peroxide, dab it, and continue pouring the peroxide and dabbing it.
It will eventually come out, wash with cold water and hang in the sun.
HelenMy nurse sisters shared the secret with me over 40 years ago; always keep hydrogen peroxide in the house.
BettySo, quilters always spit on it. Enzymes in your mouth dissolve your blood….
Usually done while still working on quilt project
AmyUse LA awesome. Clear bottle, yellow liquid. From dollar general or dollar tree.
It always works for me.
Put some in a cup or bowl and put the stained spot in there and let it soak for a day or so.
But I haven’t tried it on something perfectly white.
May want to spot test it first on some spot that wouldn’t be noticeable
JillA nurse taught me to treat the blood while it is still wet, with peroxide until it stops bubbling.
You can dunk an item in peroxide if small enough or just keep squeezing it on, dab away the wet, squirt on let it foam dab away the wet on repeat until it’s gone and then laundry is usual.
DianaPeroxide before it is washed. It won’t worked afterwards
RhondaGet a spray bottle of peroxide. Spray the spot wet and let air dry. The trick is it may take 6 repeats.
But it is 5 seconds then drying time.
It will take out even been through the dryer blood stains.
Also good on ring around the collar.
It just takes several cycles of spray and air dry.
RondaDefinitely hydrogen peroxide, let it sit for a min then wash in cold water
DelFunny you say that because I have always used ammonia for blood. It used to literally make fresh and old stains disappear magically in an instant but lately it won’t even get out tiny blood spots that are 2 minutes old. Weird.
MargaritaPeróxide. Apply, dab with a clean cloth, apply until gone.
TammyHydrogen peroxide. Straight. Dont add anything. Just spray hydrogen peroxide on the stain.
Let it sit a minute then blot blot blot and spray again.
Repeat til gone then stain treat and wash.
Do not dry until 100% sure stain is gone.
ToniYour saliva will take out fresh blood stains and will usually fade older ones.
ShirleyAlways start with Peroxide then soak in cold water. Keep trying with Peroxide.
RobinPeroxide. If that continues to fail, soak in a bucket with biz dissolved in water for a few days.
PatriceTry lestoil. Found at ACE hardware. Wet the area. Put the lestoil on and scrub. Rewet and scrub.
Let sit 3-5 minutes DO NOT LET DRY
WASH AS USUALJessI been able to use dawn to get everything out. Dot area with dawn and take an extremely stiff bristled brush like for dishes (not a toothbrush – stiffer) and brush rigorously up and down.
Then brush rigorously side to side. Let it sit for about 5 mins and wash.
If it’s white, I usually dab the area with bleach using a q-tip
