Help! My daughter has fallen asleep on a rug upstairs and peed on a carpet a few times. Despite shampooing it with a carpet cleaner, the odor persists.

Any suggestions on how to salvage it? I’m reluctant to discard it.

Product for animal accidents I’ve heard my cat peed is a good one. I’ve used oxy clean or Febreze as well

We just had our dog have the worst smelling diarrhea on our basement carpet. I clean the carpet but the smell stayed.

I covered the area in baking soda and covered it with a towel.

Left it sit for 24 hours and then vacuumed up the baking soda.

Smell gone. Leaving the baking soda for 24 hours was key.

I use Nature’s Miracle. It’s for pets but it works on human urine as well. I took care of my mother during her battle with dementia and I used it on her laundry when she had the occasional accident.

If you have a driveway. Pull it out there and lay it flat flipped over with back upright, get some good dog stain shampoo, a high pressure water hose connector and a long handled scrub brush.

Scrub away, hose it and flipb over to hose it again.

              Always worked great for me

Is it carpet or rug you could take outside? If a rug, take it where you can lay it flat, sprinkle w Dawn, hose it & work in Dawn then let it sit for awhile.

Then here the soap through the entire rug & hose until rinse. It might take a few days to dry.

Or sprinkle with white vinegar or rubbing alcohol & baking soda. Work it in a bit then let sit. Vacuum when very.

Be sure to do a test spot to make sure the color won’t run. I’ve done this on rugs & carpets with success & 6 puppies

I use My Pet Peed on everything. It’s an amazing cleaner.
