Clotheslines are not allowed in my HOA and I really don’t have space or patience to hang stuff to dry all over my home.
One thing I do to save money when drying my clothes is I set the dryer for a timed dry of 20 minutes.
I will let the clothes stay in the hot dryer another 20-30 minutes.
Then I pull them out and take care of them. Other than jeans and towels, my clothes are usually completely dry.
If I use the sensor dry, it takes double that amount of time.
No, I don’t have a ton of wrinkles either and I never iron anything.
BrendaStand alone drying rack to put on your back patio. Low enough that you don’t see over fence.
AngieToss a dry towel in the dryer with the wet clothes
MaryI’ll do the 20 minute of heat thing and then 10 minute or so of no heat fluffing.
I tried just letting the clothes sit in the warm dryer, they got a sour smell instead of finishing drying.
TesseA clean dry towel added to each load will cut drying time
MelindaThat’s ridiculous! So, get a rolling clothes rack. That’s what I use.
Lisashould you want to hang up anything indoors… you might install tension shower rods the overhead length of the tub.
you can hang things to drip dry on the rod OR on hangers on the rods.
FrancescaTime to change the HOA policies. Clothes lines are responsible, natural, and can be dealt with like adults; just like bringing up your trash can in a timely manner.
DianeYou should look into a ceiling mounted drying rack for your laundry room.
You just drop it down and put the clothes on it to dry and then move it back to the ceiling to get it out of the way.
SusanWhat about a folding drying rack. Love it & the clothes do to.
LingI still put the clothes outside, all summer the humidity dried them quickly and we have a yard and I hanged them with hangers on the patio deck It’s getting cool now but still try the sunlight and will finish indoors.
MaryI put a rod in my laundry room and hang them in there it works great!
CherieI do it the opposite, heavy stuff like towels, jeans, throws, I place them over the dryer door and laundry room door overnight.
Then finish them off in the dryer in the morning.
AngelaI hang all my tips on hangers, all my pants with the pants hangers and I utilize my door frames to hang the hangers from.
I also have a retractable clothes line in my laundry room to dry my smaller and more delicate things.
Only things is the dryer is the dog beds, sheets, bla kets, and towels.
LenaWe are not allowed clothes lines either. And even on low my clothes come out ridiculously hot. So, I will definitely give this a try.
MaryI have my dryer stacked on top of my washer. There is a narrow space (about 14 inches) between the dryer and wall that I have tension rods.
I can fit a lot of items there, on hangers, until they are about 90 percent dry, then I toss them in the dryer for a few minutes.
SusanI have a line around 3 walls of my garage. I dry almost everything there on high tension wire.
KathleenLook at the detachable clothes lines for inside. There are also several kinds of drying racks and stands.
You can put a couple of stands outside on the back patio or deck and bring them in later.
That doesn’t violate HOA.
ShellyI put 2 clean dry Beach towels in the middle of the wet clothes it helps dry the clothes quicker reducing the time and energy in the dryer.
SusanI do a wrinkle release setting and hang appropriately, drying rack or hanger. 20 minute cycle. Towels are similar to your cycles.
SueI installed a double shower curtain rod just to have a place to hang dry clothes.
