I’ve made some changes lately I’m hoping add up. I’ve seen people my age (and younger) post here with tens of thousands in savings in multiple accounts and I definitely don’t.
In the past few months Ive:
Lowered my dog insurance $80/mo
Phone bill $30/moReturned my car lease and got a used car $650/mo
Got a new job with matching 401k and tuition reimbursement
RobRule #1: Don’t take what you see on FB as the norm or even true!
You’re doing the things to change your trajectory. One recommendation is to remember to enjoy the ride!
BryanDon’t worry about everyone else. Everybody has different circumstances. Focus on yourself and all of those changes will add up.
You’re doing the best thing which is getting started and those are some big changes!
Best of luck to you in your journey!
HowieYour journey is a race against yourself.
1. Don’t compare yourself to someone with MORE/LESS money.2. Compare yourself with “you a month” prior, a year, and a decade prior.
3. If you did nothing to fix it, where would you be. Doing something is often better than doing nothing.
4. Once you’re making progress, decide how much you want to sacrifice. Let that be your motivation.
5. Even as I get “older”, I still see people who drive nice cars but has zero savings for retirement.
I still focus on what I need to do.
MattWhat is your apr and loan duration for the car? You can get mint mobile for $15/mo for cell service which has been great.
