I spend so much on takeout and fast food. I am single and don’t enjoy cooking. Any advice or easy recipes? (please no eggs, I’m allergic) Ty in advance)

I’m looking for ways to cut down on my takeout expenses by cooking more at home. I’m new to cooking, so I’m interested in recipes that are easy to follow and don’t require too many ingredients.

I’d also like to avoid using eggs in these recipes, so any meal ideas without eggs would be ideal.

I’d love to hear about meals that are quick to prepare, budget-friendly, and adaptable for different ingredients.

I’m open to various cuisines and dietary styles (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.), as long as they’re easy to make and egg-free.

Any tips, recipe suggestions, or even meal-prep hacks would be super helpful. Thanks in advance for any advice on helping me get started with home-cooked meals!

I’d remember that those rotisserie chickens are very handy. 5 bucks at Sam’s Club. Have chicken sandwich with a salad one day.

Take some meat off the bone and toss with stove top style stuffing. Take more meat and add to a little broth.

Add some shredded carrots and a little pasta. (Soup) Mix some of the chicken into jar Alfredo sauce and then boil rice or pasta to go with it.

Get an air fryer, you can make all sorts of things.

Simple solutions from the grocery store include canned soups and frozen microwave meals. The quality is better than it used to be.

They don’t require you to cook and can definitely help cut down on the takeout expenses.

After 8, you can get rotisserie chickens for half price at the grocery store.

Eat some and break the rest down and divide into meal sized portions for those phone-it-in days we all get.

I cook for one. When I cook I make a big batch and freeze the leftovers in single serving containers. I always have a nice variety to choose from in the freezer.

Almost all cooked foods freeze well!

Quesadillas with just cheese, chicken or pretty much any protein. Baked chicken breast (season with whatever you want and put in the oven for 20 minutes at 375 degrees).

You can also get bagged salad and add the chicken to that. Burger in a skillet with freezer fries on the side.

Shepard’s pie (brown ground beef in a skillet with salt and pepper or whatever seasonings you want, cream of corn from a can in the middle and premade mash potatoes on top in a baking dish.

Cook in the oven until everything is warmed and a little brown on the top. Freeze the rest of the serving for another time).

Bbq pork chops (add a pack to a crockpot, add bbq sauce and shred when done. Have on a bun.

I put coleslaw on mine which you can buy premade). You can freeze that as well.

I add precut butternut squash to a crockpot and add a little oil, salt, pepper, cinnamon, ginger, onion powder and cook for a couple hours (it will be soft when done).

When I was 30 I was single and ate out all the time. Then I got custody of 2 toddlers suddenly and my eating out all the time was over.

I taught myself to cook from the internet.

I looked up recipes and joined recipe groups. I learned so much.

Now I can cook everything. My friend gave me cookbooks for Christmas and they were great too

Instant Pot and Air Fryer can help with this. They’re faster and more hands off cooking. Flavor is good too. Use grocery delivery so grocery shopping isn’t a barrier.

One of our favorite meals is spaghetti in the instant pot.

Toss in beef and let the IP do all the work (even from frozen). When its done you toss everything including uncooked pasta in (the ingredient order matters) and let it do all the work again.

Get some deli containers and freeze whatever is left when you get sick of it so you have cheap good tasting freezer meals when you don’t want to cook.

Start simple, what are you favorite meals? Tacos are easy, spaghetti, ravioli, salads. Some grocery stores have those ready to eat meals that are cheaper then restaurants.

There are a lot of copycat recipes online. Air fryers are easy to use!

Maybe try to cook one thing on the weekend that you portion into single servings and freeze?

I bought myself a $15 quesadilla maker super easy put the quesadilla in fill it with cheese. I like some zucchini on mine put the other piece of tortilla on and close it for three minutes easy Peezy.

Another favorite is the way I make my chicken Parmesan. I just don’t cook the chicken.

I throw it in the crockpot with a jar of sauce and let it cook and flavor the sauce.

Make some crumbled sausage in a fry pan. Add some cooked rice garlic salt or powder and peas. Stir it up together super easy & filling.

I avoid fast food at lunch by keeping Healthy Choice or Lean Cuisine in the freezer.

I batch cook and freeze. Look up Souper Cubes on Amazon. I freeze in these containers and then transfer the item to a freezer ziploc baggie.

Easy to stack. I keep track of what I have in the freezer with a paper attached to the freezer.

Make soup and freeze . I buy a chicken, eat what you can and then freeze the chicken body and make chicken soup or chicken taco soup.

                                            I love Pinterest for ideas.

Ramen noodles, prepare with 1 and a half cup water (instead of 2 cups) use flavor packet, add frozen vegetables.

I like spinach, peas, onions and peppers. Add 2 table spoons peanut butter and some Sriracha sauce. Easy and cheap.
