is there any online or forms that can help me and him without spending a lot of money.
Thanks
CarlIn California you can add a person’s name as TOD (transfer on death) on the title. The person who is on the title now will have to go to the DMV.
Not everyone behind the counter will know this is an option but it is.
I did it but it took the clerk asking a more experienced employee and a few more minutes to find the right location in the computer system to get it to work.
You may also want to check with your local AAA office.
TimHave your name put onto the title. Joint ownership. Some states you can put it as person A “or” person B and then only one person needs to be present for anything legal regarding it
NotaKarenChange the title to you OR him. AAA if yore a member 28.00 fee I believe. Or you can do it at the dmv
LeslieJust have him sign the title and a bill of sale and put them in a safe place. You don’t have to get it retitled now.
AnnaOn vehicles you just need to add a TOD transfer on death to the title. Then it goes directly to that person.
Kathy$20 a month for prepaid legal. They do a will as part of signing up for their service.
DawnCheck to see if your state has transfer on death for automobiles. The state of Missouri does so when my dad passed his vehicle passed to me automatically without probate.
RissaSome states have Transfer on Death for the car registration. Ask if yours does and ask him to have it added
