Question for all…I have a kid who loves ramen, hates the seasoning.
She puts butter and Parmesan on it. So of course, because I’m me, I can’t see wasting the seasoning packets.
Anybody have any suggestions on using them.
PeggyLove ramen but the seasoning packets are too overloaded with salt
MichelleI use them to make soups and beef stew I also use them to make gravy
StephanieI put them in rice and after it’s cooked I add diced carrots and peas. Little bit of soy sauce, sesame oil, whatever.
My kids call it yummy rice.
Can add a scrambled egg for protein.
SuzannaIt’s bullion
Use it the same as you would thatJenniferIf you have an Asian store nearby you can buy the plain ramen noodles and they are way better.
Hollyuse the chicken , beef seasoning packets on those meat while cooking.
you can also add those flavor packets to gravy or marinades – but you can go to an oriental store and buy ramen noodles without seasoning packets
MarciaWe had a local restaurant that made ramen fries.,they’d use the seasoning.
CandyUse it to make broth with for cooking those meats in or even add to boiling water like bullion and add your own pasta, potatoes veggies, ect.
I’ve added to the water for chicken or piece of beef I want to roast.. just use as a bullion..
JenniferI would put them in the garbage. They contain way too much salt and likely other unhealthy non food items.
GraceI put the seasoning in water and heat it up and drink it. It’s delicious but not very healthy I imagine.
TiffanySave them up and sell them on ebay. There are people out there who just want the seasoning packs
JennChicken/beef or whatever flavor based soups, stews or casseroles
KarenIt’s basically a type is seasoned salt so you could use it as one. So on veggies, potatoes, etc
JolieI use the packets when I need it for flavoring for chicken noodles or another dish
MollyI use the seasoning packets to make broth. In the nwinter time when I need a quick warm up or I am sick.
LinneaThe chicken powder tastes very good sprinkled on chicken, veggies, in soup..
WenYou can get just the ramen at Asian markets for way cheaper – and the plain ones have a good protein content, where the ramen packs often do not
LindaThe seasoning packets are filled with preservatives that are actually harmful.
This is one instance where it’s ok to “waste” them
CynthiaThey’re filled with chemicals..buy just ramen noodles in the pasta isle or the Chinese food section of the market.
KayRamen noodles have something g in them that causes us not to get and absorb nutrients like we should a sort of plastic
SaraYou could try making broth with them. I haven’t ever tried before, but, they’re essentially salty broth so, maybe there’s something else you could also add to neutralize the salt content.
TheresaShake some saltines with a drop or two olive oil in a baggie then sprinkle packet in baggie shake then put them in oven for a couple of minutes.
