I am hoping someone can help me. We have a dumb tv, internet with roku. We use to be able to watch NBC with Lester Holt, but recently we can only find reruns on peacock.

Can anyone help me find the NBC Lester Holt news again? I really do not want to pay for cable.

      Thank you so much!

I have a (rabbit ears) TV antenna that gets the basic local channels. Nbc, ABC, Fox and a local station.

It was about $15 and works as good or better than the expensive ones that attach to the window.

YouTube usually has most of the network news shows for free but thereā€™s a delay of a few hours. Iā€™m not talking about YouTube tv.

          Just the regular YouTube.

YouTube has it. Most days we get it without having to sign in (I would say 2 days out of the month, YouTube will ask me to sign inā€¦then I find some other evening ā€œworldā€ news)

I have antenna and peacock as well. I have struggled pulling in NBC. It seems like I’m constantly moving the antenna around just to pull in NBC.

I do not have any trouble with ABC, CBS or Fox.

I work second shift so I usually end up watching Lester the next morning on peacock or listening to the podcast when I’m walking my dog in the morning.

Lester is the only reason I even pay for peacock. Love my Lester!!

A really cheap Idea is find an old cable coax cord, strip it down to the copper and stick it in the cable hole. You have a tv antenna that way.

I have mine hooked up that way and get a bunch of channels.

I would make it halfway long cause you will want to loop it or hang it with something

I have 2 different antennas. One I bought years ago to put out on my old house. The other is a flat black plastic one with an amplifier for the bedroom tv.

It gets some channels but not as good as the inside/outside one in the living room (although not a very pretty setup).

All you need to do is take a cable coaxial plug it in it to your TV cut the other off and strip about 8″ of the insulation back then set your menu on your TV to antenna connection and do a channel search.

You should get all of your local hd channels for free.

If you only get a couple of try moving the coaxial up on the wall ur pointing it in a different direction and then do another channel search.

With mine I got the most channels when I took the coaxial thru the window and stuck it in the ground!

I had had it up high out the window but it fell and ended up getting buried over find and I was able to get 9 clear channels and a couple that would come in but would occasionally would flicker in and out.

Everyone has some old cable wire lying around so Local cable is essentially free with a HD TV.

Lester Holt really? Save your brain cells-go out and do something outside before itā€™s dark at 4:30- learn to crochet, make freezer meals for next weekā€”but Lester Holt, yeah-not really ā€œnewsā€!

Do some antenna research before you buy an indoor antenna. Take a look at the website called thefreetvproject. org. (We are not allowed to put links on this page).

It’s pretty simple to do what they suggest.

Also, don’t get discouraged if you don’t get the right antenna on the first try.

I had to go through 3 before I found the one that worked. Keep your receipts so you can return them! Good luck.

Can you get an inexpensive indoor antenna? Alternatively, see if you can download for free the nbc app.

They ā€˜shouldā€™ run it live (iā€™ve got several news apps and canā€™t remember which ones offer the news for free).
