Got $1,000 off my used car!!! Asked a car dealership when the slow days were, as I didn’t want to spend all day signing papers.

They said Fridays and Saturdays are very busy. So I thought I could wheel and deal on a slow day.

I asked for $2,000 off and the salesman said he’d run it by his manager.

He came back with a counter offer. $1,000 off. My husband was too scared to ask , as it was already a great deal.

I said the worse thing is they could say no.

Doesn’t hurt to try. Also you can transfer your old licensce plate on your old car and save $100!!! $10,000 39,000 miles Ford Escape 2017. 2 owners.

Never been in a wreck or flood. First questions I asked salesman.

        Congrats… good job!
We will be looking next spring. Not doing anything but stocking up food and saving money right now.

Waiting until after the election and all the major union contract deals and strikes get settled.

The quarter of an election year is always crazy…

we might get a decent deal now, but we have to sell two cars we want to unload use that cash to go in with a cash deal.

We do not finance cars any longer nor buy new or everything newer then 10 years…

we let the depreciation happen to another family. We are grateful that we know a won derful mechanic and that helps our decisions.

Nice! I went in with my daughter for her first car. They were working like crazy to get her financed and had to lower the price to get the bank to approve it for her.

I was surprised by that and the salesman said when it’s the end of the month, car companies are trying to meet the quotas or sales goals and that is the best time to buy a car because you can get better deals so they can make a sale.

Don’t know if it’s true but there you go.

I like your attitude- the worst they can do is say no. Good job!

We did something similar – we found a minivan near us that was more expensive than one further away but in the same city.

We went to look at the more expensive one first, told them we were interested but needed to look at another that was the same but cheaper.

They offered us the comp price right there after I showed them the website price.

We left that night as we had several little kids in tow and weren’t ready for signing so we kept coming back over a couple days and even had the car privately inspected which made some things show up that we got the price knocked down again for.

In the end different managers approved different amounts off and we ended up getting $3500 off the sticker price.

it definitely doesn’t hurt to ask!!

I bought my suv after it was returned and sat on the lot for a year. We were checking inventory and saw its price dropping every few months.

Was window shopping, not truly in the market, but I totaled my suv and it was still on the lot.

went in with a price in mind, haggled, and left the dealership with them owing the bank the difference on sticker price to my offer.

They even showed me the ledger!

I bought my 2017 Ford Escape new. I love it. Only problem I had was it stalling twice. Had something to do with the auto-start thing that I always hated.

The shop disconnected that and it’s been problem-free.

Hope you have the same luck with yours!

Never ever pay asking price. Glad they came down $1000

We have one, probably be good to buy the extended warranty…lucky for us we did! Transmission went out and shocks and struts all need replacing, along with alternator and water pump!

All happened under 100. 000 miles!

I’m not very frugal when it comes to vehicles. I always buy new so I don’t really have to worry much when traveling.

Never bought a used vehicle for myself.
