I just moved to a different state with my kids and husband and didn’t have much money to buy office clothes.

We also are temporarily staying an Airbnb with no access to my clothes in storage.

Someone at work told me about Dress for Success.

They help women with 5 outfits for work along with shoes for free.

I am so thankful for them to be able to help me.

Also- you can try putting “iso- in search of” items on local Facebook pass it along groups or buy nothing groups. You’d be surprised at how generous people can be. I’ve donated plenty of office and casual attire for women.

About a year ago, I did a deep purge of closets with intention of donating clothes to a shelter. My husband reminded me a woman we knew had just been employed in a local business; I knew she’d been out of work force for some time.

I called her, told her I didn’t want to offend her but I was purging my closets of my professional clothes; asked if she or her daughter would like them.

          So glad she accepted.

Contact your local YWCA, women’s shelter, or United Way to find similar resources in your area.
