Hi everyone! I’m curious about how you structure your investment portfolios. Specifically, how much of your portfolio is dedicated to individual stock picks versus other types of investments (like ETFs, mutual funds, or bonds)?

Do you prefer having more direct control by selecting individual stocks, or do you lean toward diversified, managed funds?

I’d love to hear about your strategies and reasons behind them. Let’s discuss!”

I only own one stock, the rest is broad index, bonds and HYSA

About 25%. As long as I’m choosing good companies in different sectors, I’m not doing anything different than my mutual funds.

Low single digits not counting ESPP and company stock bonuses/options. And those get converted to index funds as soon as it’s possible and logical.

All of my portfolio is divided (unevenly weighted) across 500 individual stocks.

To simplify managing these stocks, I have them all indexed into one ticker which.

It makes life much more simple.

Outside of 401k funds I don’t have the ability to buy individual stocks in, probably 98%.

Not that there’s anything wrong with index funds and ETFs, but if that was all I invested in, I’d still be working.

My wife and I have RSUs and ESPPs, and those have a very specific plan for investment and divestment.

They arent meant to be long-term holdings, but rather company perks that were able to convert to cash to accomplish some of our other financial goals.

We do own some Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, which I classify into a similar bucket as individual stocks.

Other than that, we own VTI and some leveraged ETFs. The allocation of the leveraged ETFs depends on where the market is, how frothy it is, and my outlook for the economy.

0%, but I do gamble a bit by having a small amount (less than 1%) in crypto.

I’m looking for high likelihood of retiring slightly early, not some possibility of retiring very early, so for me this is the way.

                        90% stocks!
I feel good about my choices. I was a member of an investment club.

I learned some basic stock investment skills.

And I buy and hold for the most part.
