I’m looking for advice on the best way to cook frozen butternut squash for optimal taste and texture.

Whether you prefer roasting, sautéing, or any other method, I’d love to hear your tips! Should it be thawed first or cooked directly from frozen?

Are there any specific seasonings or techniques that you’ve found work particularly well?

Feel free to share any recipes or creative ideas you’ve tried with this versatile ingredient.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

The easiest way to cook it is in a crockpot. You don’t need to cut it up beforehand. Wash it and put inthe crockpot until cooked, Then cut in half scooping ou the seeds and then the squash.

        Then use however you want.

I just thaw mine, then put in a skillet, add ghee and salt, then warm until done. Plate and eat.

Toss in avo oil, garlic powder salt and pepper. Bake at 425 for 25 minutes or until golden and fork runs through.

Flip between cooking time if desired

We mostly make curried butternut squash soup, but I cook the squash before I freeze them.

Is it already diced? I roast mine with salt, pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg + EVOO

I like to chop up yellow potatoes, then add cubed frozen squash and roast in the oven.

You can either spray the pan, toss in a little oil, or whatever is your choice to keep it from sticking.

Then add either sweet or savory seasoning because this dish could go either way.

Steam with butter, salt and pepper and cinnamon.
I’ve also added a few tablespoons of orange juice instead of water to steam.

You can add all of the spices and zap in the microwave.

                    Stirring often then mash.

I have two favorite ways to make it. The easiest way is to mash it with melted butter. Add a tablespoon of brown sugar and a pinch of nutmeg and blend well.

The other way is a little more work but always requested. I mix cooked squash, milk, eggs, sugar, and flour.

Bake it then top it with a sweet crumb topping and bake it some more.

This is delicious and my go to recipe for Thanksgiving.

I add mine to stir fry – some blends in enough to thicken it a bit and still leaves enough chunks to enjoy the butternut squash itself.

Or make n8gellas double potato halloumi bake

I put it in a Crock-Pot. If I want to make soup I leave it in there until it’s mushy All the way through.

If I needed cubed, can I leave it in there until it’s just soft enough to cut in half and then I finish it in the oven to get the proper doneness.

I used to struggle to cut a butternut squash in half put in the oven.

                            Not anymore.

Prick it with a fork all over and microwave it for about 10 min or more. Slice it open and remove the seeds and scoop out the squash.
