Kroger has Brisket on sale for 3.99 per lb right now. One brisket is $61.85 (originally $92.85). After watching a video on how to properly trim it, it seems like there is quite a lot of fat.

Is it still a good deal to grab it 3.99 per lb or pass due to a lot of it being fat?

Wanted to trim it and use it for a bunch of different meals but not sure if I should.

Wow. Where are you located? In Texas, we have the sale but at radically different prices.

Can we make the butcher cut much of the fat off and then charge less?

Look up beef tallow, that’s what I’m learning to do with our trimmings. Hey grill hey has a good video and app too

A fat brisket is not a bad thing. You cook it fat side up and it bastes the meat as it cooks.

There will still be some fat left but it trims off very easily.

Make Tallow with the fat. Very yummy and healthy

Briskets are 25% to 30% fat. I trim some of the fat and render it down separately and keep it in the fridge.

I think it’s not that great of a deal at that ppp but slow cooked brisket is so good!

Publix had it for $2.99 a pound, untrimmed. We saved the fat and SIL will mix it in deer sausage.

This cut of meat needs to be cooked for a long period of time. The fat lends flavor.

Find one that feels heavy for its size. Meat is heavier than fat.
