Is a $100-$250 coworking membership worth it for a remote paralegal?

I work from home as a paralegal. I’m considering getting a monthly membership to a co-working place, as I miss being around people and getting out of the house sometimes, and it also may increase my productivity.

I definitely wouldn’t go every day.

The memberships I’m looking at range from $100 – $250 per month depending on the place.

Some have nice amenities like free parking, free printing, free coffee from local brewers, on-site cafés, etc.

My employer won’t pay for this, so it would be my money.

Another downside is I would probably have to leave my monitor at home when I go.

Does anyone have experience with a coworking place?

Do you think it would be worth the expense?

      Thank you for any feedback!

I wouldn’t pay that abd you may want to check with your firm regarding IT security.

When I wanted a change of scene every now and then, I’d just take my laptop to a coffee shop or the library.

I personally wouldn’t want to commit to spending $100-$250 per month.

My company worked at a WeWork for 6 months prior to covid. Other than saying hi in passing outside our offices, no one was social despite all the efforts, activities and networking events put on by WeWork to get all the companies to interact.

I recommend just working a few days a week at a local coffee shop.

You’ll be around people and save a ton of money.

If you need to engage just find a volunteer opportunity you can do a few times a week.

My place of employment provides us all a VPN so we can sign into a secure network

I own a building that houses the main office of our business. It is located a mile from my house.

I used to drive a few miles out the way to go to a co-share workspace where I could sit down, work and think without interruptions.

Many co-share offices are very deliberate in creating a sense of community among members as well.

I don’t know your budgetary constraints, but I get much more than $1200-3000 worth of value out of using a co share space.

Portable monitors are a thing and are your friend. I’ve had a few no name ones, but recently Dell one which I love.
