We have a BJ’s coming to town and I’m wondering if anyone has done a cost comparison to Sam’s and/or Costco? They are offering a $25 membership and I’m just curious as to whether or not that would be money well spent. TIA!

“Which membership warehouse offers the best value: BJ’s, Sam’s Club, or Costco?

With BJ’s offering a $25 membership promotion, how does it compare in terms of cost-effectiveness to Sam’s and Costco?

Are there significant differences in pricing, product variety, or membership perks that would make one a better option than the others?”

We had a BJ’s Membership in part it was closer than Sam’s but also the price of the membership was less.

Here’s some of my thoughts … BJ’s has less product in their store than Sam’s.

I liked the convenience of going into BJ’s buying the things I knew we would use before they expire and getting out quicker.

They do have some turnover in products they offer but not a lot so I usually knew before I went exactly what I would be getting.

We now have a Membership to Sam’s instead we don’t go there as often as it’s not as close.

However, I do tend to find more things at Sam’s since its a bigger store with more product. BJ’s does have different ways to save on gas.

I have memberships to both, I like BJ’s because you get coupons and can use coupons there

on the whole I find walmart just about as cheap and I buy a lot less so I have to store less and waste less

We have been a BJs member for several years because it’s only about a 20 minute drive one way compared to a 40 min drive one way to Costco.

We just joined Costco. There was never anything specific at BJs that kept us coming back.

We like Costco’s meats a lot better, and the variety is definitely better. Our Costco is probably double the size of the Bjs here.

I have a food allergy and have to buy organic meats now.

ostco, again, has the better selection, and they taste better to us, too.

I read an article with a side by side comparison and I believe BJ’s was the least savings of the three.

But I’ve never personally shopped there, so I couldn’t say for sure.

I guess one year membership for $25 is good to try and see.

My husband likes to go to Sam’s for cheap lunch and cheap gas is also nice. BJ had coupons that seemed to make things a bit cheaper but it was a hassle to use.

Our union had a discount program but the hassle to use it was not worth it either. Overall, we preferred Sam’s.

I have membership to both and love the food from Costco. The only thing that Bjs has is a deli but there prices are high at bjs

My BJ is fairly close by. That is where I buy my gas, saving at least 10 cents per gallon.

We use all 3 regularly. Sam’s does overall seem to be the cheapest, especially for cereal.

I really like BJs for their produce (quality and price).

I think the meat and fish at Costco is the best, and they probably have the largest inventory of nonfood items.

They really have good food. Bakery items are delicious! Clothing seems more like seconds

They are offering $25.00 membership but you have to agree to automatic renew when your year is up.

We were able to do a free walk through before buying a membership. We only found two items that we normally buy that were less expensive than other places we shopped and were not impressed with their selections.

We don’t like Sam’s either. Unfortunately there is not a Costco within 50 miles of us.

There is no place like Costco in my opinion. Their products are excellent. However I have a BJ’s close to my house.

I get gas there and a few things that are good so just for the gas alone its worth it.

I do miss Costco’s products, though.

We have both. I prefer BJs. Everything I buy is either less expensive or within 1- 2 cents. OTC meds and vitamins are much cheaper at BJs.

I’ve tried several items of the BJs brand and never been disappointed.

Sam’s has so much stuff that I always came home with extra stuff that I really didn’t need and overspent by a lot.

Sam’s here is always crowded and takes forever but I can go to BJs and be out in 30-40 minutes.

When I had a baking business I checked prices in Sam’s, BJ’s and Costco. Sam’s and BJ’s came in lowest. You can also use manufacturer coupons in BJ’s.

I have the Perks Reward membership and the BJ’s CC.

I got the CC only so I could get 5% back on BJ’s purchases and saves me 15 cents per gallon of gas.

Those two things pay for my membership.
