Recently I asked what I should buy at ALDIs. The answer was pretty much everything, possibly not produce depending on your Aldi.

Now, I am asking if there is anything I should not buy there.

I’ve heard great things about ALDI’s affordability and variety, but I’m curious if there are any items that shoppers typically avoid.

Whether it’s due to quality, taste, or personal experience, I’d love to hear from regular ALDI shoppers.

Are there specific products in categories like fresh produce, dairy, snacks, or household goods that don’t quite meet expectations?

Or maybe something you’ve tried and wouldn’t recommend? Your feedback will be really helpful as I plan my next grocery trip.

      Thanks!

The Aldis I go to has wonderful fruit and produce! I won’t buy it anywhere else.

Remember we are used to food with all kinds of chemicals in them. Lot’s of products that Aldi carries don’t.

          That maybe the difference…

          Don’t kill me, it’s just a thought

If they carry it at Aldi’s I will buy it there! If I go to another nicer store for instance if they didn’t have what I needed, I do try to buy the red meat elsewhere.

The ground beef is good but the other red meat is not always the tastiest. In my opinion.

Everything else there is great! Also, if you’re a coffee mate creamer queen who makes your coffee at home, opt for coffee creamer elsewhere if you can.

I don’t care for their chicken breasts or their bread and butter pickles.

Don’t buy the onion rings. They literally have no onions in them at all

Really all you can do at aldi is check it for yourself. I have 2 within an hour of my house and one has really good meat but sketchy produce or it used to I haven’t been to that one in awhile.

The other one has great produce and sketchy looking meat and their gluten free products have very little variety unlike before.

Just keep in mind you won’t know till you try

I shop there a lot but don’t buy their lunch meat or baked beans, threw both away

I have bought pasta there on two occasions and it was horrible. Starchy, stuck together and just nasty.

I’m not a fan of their boxed cake mix. The brownies are awesome but the cake isn’t good.

Not a fan of their dairy free selection of milk/coffee creamer. It’s just bland and not very creamy.

Like watery? Idk but I buy it elsewhere.

Use you best judgment. I have used their butter, milk and eggs with no problem. Your eyes can judge the produce.

I buy their grapes (being a single person, I take a portion out of their bags and put them into a plain plastic bag), cooking onions, and celery all the time.

Yes, you need to be selective. I do about 1/3 of my overall shopping at Aldi.

Their cheese aisle is great and good prices for the quality. Produce when in season is good with great prices.

Snacks and power bars are good. Canned goods are comparable to major brands and 1/2 the price.

Their boxed pasta can be starchy, but I’m a pasta snob so try to get the better brands when there is a BOGO at other stores. Overall, like any store, be selective.

Aldi is a good store, especially if you’re on a budget. And you can return anything you don’t care for hassle free with your receipt.

Also for the holiday season coming up turkeys are comparable with others and a decent price especially if they run a special.

I’ve shopped at Aldi for years and have noticed shrinkage on sizes and prices going up as in other stores.

I don’t care for a lot of the hummus they carry or the ready made pizza dough or refrigerated ravioli

I don’t care for the crackers and chips much. I don’t feel the quality is very good with most of them.

The only reason we have to supplement groceries at other stores is due to Aldi not having a complete stocking of some items we use that they don’t stock and I buy MARK down meat at Food Lion.

I have heard Aldi’s marks down meat, but I haven’t ever seen any when I am there.

I buy everything possible from Aldi’s.

The quality is good and the prices are less.

I find Aldi here cost about the same as Walmart but I have to drive 45+ minutes to get to one.

We have not bought anything at Aldi’s that we did not like but we don’t buy processed goods, just ingredients.

I believe Aldi has a great return policy if you don’t like something.

I would just watch the pricing to make sure you are getting good the best price.

Their lemonade has the worst aftertaste. Their black olives used to be nice and crisp but recent months have been mushy.

I bought some breaded flounder this week that was just bland. Most everything there is good.

If you’re trying to spend less, don’t get carried away by their cures meats/cheeses/dips.

They can really add up even though they’re good if you’re needing those things – but expensive if you’re just like “oooh.”

I bought 80 pounds of bananas for canning Monkey Butter at 39 cents a pound. I let those ripen for 5 days prior to canning

We don’t like their coffee. I tried a yogurt I didn’t like and some of the Knock off crackers but the ones that are large rounds that come in buttery, whole wheat and garden vegetable are good the whole wheat are a staple. Single sleeve about 1.79
