Schwab vs. Fidelity? I need to move my traditional solo 401k out of Ascensus. I’ve been told there isn’t much difference between these two.

Any pros or cons for either?

I’m considering transferring my solo 401k and am torn between Schwab and Fidelity.

Both companies have solid reputations, but I’d like to hear from those who have experience with either or both.

Which platform offers better customer service, lower fees, and more investment options?

Are there any hidden costs or specific features that make one a better choice over the other?

I’d appreciate insights on the ease of the transfer process, the quality of online tools, and any personal experiences you can share.

Your feedback will help me make an informed decision.

      Thanks in advance!

I like fidelity a lot. My second choice would be vanguard.

Fidelitys platform is more user friendly. They have good customer service too

Fidelity has a very good HSA. Also am very happy with their zero funds.

Think the biggest thing I like about Fidelity is there’s always someone there to pick up the phone if I want to call and I also have offices you can actually walk into

Fidelity gets some pros from me because it allows fractional shares of ETFs and Schwab does not.

Schwab has some pros I’d your travel hack, because you get a discount their version of the Schwab Plat if you have $250K+ ($100) or $1M+ ($200) in assets held there.

Vanguard allows you to convert your solo 401k funds to a traditional rollover IRA rather than have the funds moved if you want that option.

The process took less than five minutes on the phone for me.

Schwab offers a i401k Roth option that Fidelity doesn’t. Only reason I went with Schwab but pleased with service and site so far.

Switched from Vanguard when they dropped this line of business.

I believe Schwab has ROTH Solo 401k and Fidelity doesn’t last I checked.

                      Might make your decision easy.

I moved mine to Schwab (before it made it to Ascensus) and they were great at helping me get everything transitioned over!

I have my current 401K and rolled over HSA at Fidelity. Will be impressive if I can grow the HSA without putting more in since I now have a FSA.

Play with both website interfaces, see which you prefer. I like Schwab, personally.

I have both schwab and fidelity accounts. Schwab offers better cash bonuses for funds transferred in, and I like schwab’s app/website better.

But fidelity offers an HSA while schwab doesn’t.

I’ve been with Schwab for almost 15 years and can’t say enough good things about them.

I opened a tandem checking and brokerage account.

I haven’t paid a single fee in that entire time.

Free ATM use anywhere in the world. Excellent customer service.

                              Excellent low cost investment options.

I’ve had less direct experience with Fidelity but they are very comparable in terms of their products and services so I don’t think you can go wrong with either.
