Is it worth spending $4k to repair my car?
I like to do car camping and my suspension just failed last weekend.

Should I spend $4k to repair it or just sell the car and give up my hobby?

I have never spent more than $1k on a car repair so this is hurting

I would watch some YouTube videos and do it yourself! You can get the parts from the auto part store and they will rent/loan you any specialty tools you might need

Not sure what the answer is on the car maybe it’s time to replace it or maybe still worth fixing, but please don’t give up the hobby.

Hobbies are one of the big reasons any of this financial stuff matters.

You almost for sure will look back and wish you had more memories of it!

Do the math vs a buying reliable used car. And look at potential longevity with both scenarios.

Depends. What’s the car. What’s it worth. What’s the rest of it like. What’s the cost to replace it with a like model.

I’d look to see what the same vehicle you currently have is worth in working order, and then decide if fixing is worth it vs passing the problem to the next owner.
