We have a 2003 Chevy Silverado with 280,000 miles on it. We just started saving the cash for new truck goal is $30,000. Should we just keep saving till it goes out or get a new truck and put some money down like $7000 and pay aggressively.
SpikestonI wouldn’t recommend a $30,000 truck. Keep yours running. It should have at least a third of its life left.
MicheleNo new debt really means no new debt. You cash flow the next car or pay cash to repair yours… debt is never the answer to your problem it just creates more problems. Good luck on your journey to financial peace.
Jo NathanRun the Chevy till you saved the 30. If it dies before your goal, use what you have for the next truck. Upgrade later.
BeckyYou are in the official dave ramsey FB group asking if you should borrow money….. The answer NOPE!!!! . You buy what you can actually afford, not what payments you think you can “afford”. It’s a new mindset you have to develop for debt to not be an option. Continue to save until you reach your goal or the car actually gives out and use what money you do have to upgrade.
